Da Board

~ blonde redhead ~
hi, once upon a time I had a blog on this site, so long ago I don't even remember what I had called it..
~ blonde redhead ~
I started reading yours through a random sequence of events, you posted on mine a few times, this was a number of years ago,
~ blonde redhead ~
I got rid of my blog, it chronicled the downward spiral of my relationship with my ex, something that hurt too much to keep online, my point... yes I do have one..
~ blonde redhead ~
bear with me though, its my last day of work, and I'm alone and there was a bottle of wine in the fridge which I downed...
~ blonde redhead ~
is that you're not alone, and random stranger like me read your thoughts and care and know the pain of life and being alone..
~ blonde redhead ~
I guess thats all, sorry for consuming your board, I wish you all the best and don't stop writing, my life would be far more boring if you did..
~ Me ~
What a holloballo!

Boo. Almost Christmas and I'm almost prepared. Got S an exceptional present this year. I'm really proud of myself.
~ Ludmila ~
I can't be bothered with anything these days. Basically not much noteworthy happening. I feel like an empty room. I've more or less been doing nothing.

Hey Dan! Hope you are doing alright these days!

Time O' The Signs

posted Saturday, 19 April 2008
The watch that she gave me has died. It's the first time since we broke up that the battery has needed replacing. Which leaves me with a dilemma. Do I get a new watch and confine this one to the drawer of memories? Do I just replace the battery and carry on? If I didn't wear the watch, would it stop me from thinking about her continuously? It hasn't so far.

Sometimes I have a drink or two in the evening. There's nothing wrong with that. But on Thursday night I went too far. I drank lots of whisky and I enjoyed it. Friday morning at work was no fun at all though! I drank some coffee and ended up in the bathroom bringing it back up. Not very professional. Thankfully nobody knew. I won't be repeating that experience! None of this stopped me going out on Friday night though :)

No time to write more. I've got a wedding to get to!

Does the watch keep good time? Do you like the watch? IF so, then go ahead and get the batteries and enjoy the watch. There will be lots of other things to trigger memories.

sorry to disagree with the comment above, and i admit i may be biased...BUT, it's not just any watch...it has a heart felt engraving on it, and it used to hold her picture...so i think there is a bit of sentimentality associated with it. sure there will always be things that trigger memories, and it's not to say that you will never again wear that watch, but i think that for now, while you are having a hard time with it all, you should try to avoid things that will act as a constant reminder.

as an example, after my breakup from a long relationship i was left with lots of gifts and unsure what to do. the george foreman grill and espresso maker i kept and continued using. the ring and earrings, i kept, but put away in a drawer until the memories didn't sting so much.

my point is just that whatever the item, some things have more sentimental relevance than others. i think you should try going it with a different watch. if you miss it, then go ahead and replace the batteries. but i think you deserve it to yourself to give it a shot without it.

Next time you drink too much the night before, phone in work claiming to have a stomach bug, that's what I tend to do. Works every time.

Thanks Spike. I would've done that, but I felt okay when I set off for work. It wasn't until half an hour after I'd ingested something that I realised I was in trouble!

Anyway, the plan is to not be in that situation again! :)
